BMW M10
The M10 is BMW’s successor for the M1 (built between 1978 and
1981), the only supercar BMW has ever had. The 2010 M10 will be a genuine high
speed vehicle built from carbon fiber, aluminum and magnesium. In this way the
weight will be kept below 3000 lbs. and the car will have better
performance.
BMW will not use a central engine for this model. Instead the
engine is to be mounted in the front, lengthwise. About the engine used there
are more rumors. Some says that will be the V10 engine from the M5/M6, which
will carry approximately 550 HP out in the M10. Another possibility is also the
4.0 liters V8 engine used in the M3.
